School Bus Driver Facing Child Abuse Charge, Boy, 6, Dropped Off 15 Miles From Home
PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. -- A Nebraska City school bus driver is facing a misdemeanor child abuse charge.
In August, Thomas Mead, 71, dropped off Seth Foreman, 6, at the U.S. Post Office in Union, more than 15 miles from his home, according to investigators. Foreman had gotten on the wrong bus.
Mead told police that he called his boss who told him to leave the boy there.
A construction worker spotted the crying boy while walking along the side of a highway and contacted authorities.
Mead is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26.
