Are black Israelis being discriminated against?

Are black Israelis being discriminated against?

President describes mistreatment as an "open wound" after protests spurred by video of police beating black soldier.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, has met representatives of black Israelis of Ethiopian origin in an attempt to ease the tension following their angry protests in central Tel Aviv on Sunday night.

The protests came after a video was circulated showing two policemen harshly beating a black soldier.

It has again brought to the surface complaints by black Israelis about the discrimination they are subject to in the country.

But can the government offer a real solution to their plight?
