CHILD TRAFFICKING AND CHILD ABUSE HAS TO COME TO AN END.

Trafficking in children is a global problem affecting large numbers of children. Some estimates have as many as 1.2 million children being trafficked every year. There is a demand for trafficked children as cheap labour or for sexual exploitation. Children and their families are often unaware of the dangers of trafficking, believing that better employment and lives lie in other countries.

Memoir Tells Story of Hope After Abuse

Memoir Tells Story of Hope After Abuse

Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States. This statistic, dispatched byChildhelp®, a leading national nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect, indicates the alarming prevalence of this disturbing form of violence. Author C.L. Thompson details her own story of abuse in the emotive memoir If Only Regrets Were a Good Thing(published by AuthorHouse). Detailing a childhood of molestation, brutality and grief, Thompson writes with candor and introspective acumen.

If Only Regrets Were a Good Thing follows Thompson from age three to present day, chronicling her familial struggles and inner turmoil. Yet, through the devastation, Thompson notes that humor continues to “rise to the surface.”

“Faith and hope are the end result,” says Thompson. “The book remains optimistic to the end, with a few detours in between.”

The decision to write about her life was, at first, a tough one for Thompson to make. “I was inspired to write this story because it was difficult for me to realize that all this happened to me and that I am still standing,” she says. “I would like others to see that you can get up and go on, even in situations that seem hopeless.”

Now, Thompson is pleased to announce that she is married and happy. “I am able to add a bit of humor to my everyday life.”
