School teacher sacked for harassing students
CHENNAI: The management of a private school has dismissed its vice-principal following a police complaint lodged against her on Mon-day by Child Working Com-mittee chairperson Dr P Manorama, said Bala-chandran, ACP of MKB Nagar police station. Manorama had sought legal action against the vice-principal for harassing students. According to the police, a few students studying in a school at Kodungaiyur had called up the child helpline and complained against their vice-principal Gandhimathi, saying she would beat them up even over trivial issues. The issue was brought to the notice of Dr Manorama, who visited the school and conducted an inquiry. The students had sent her a video of the vice-principal beating a student taken on cellphone. Manorama had asked the school to take action against Gandhimathi. When the management failed to do so, Manorama on Monday lodged a comp-laint with the police.
