CHILD TRAFFICKING AND CHILD ABUSE HAS TO COME TO AN END.

Trafficking in children is a global problem affecting large numbers of children. Some estimates have as many as 1.2 million children being trafficked every year. There is a demand for trafficked children as cheap labour or for sexual exploitation. Children and their families are often unaware of the dangers of trafficking, believing that better employment and lives lie in other countries.

Man kills 3 children to ‘punish’ wife

Man kills 3 children to ‘punish’ wife

Hyderabad, Oct. 8: In an alarming trend, reports of children being brutalised by their parents are steadily increasing. While a father in Mahbubnagar drowned three of his children to “punish” his wife, another woman in the same district tried to poison her kids in a group suicide bid.
Yadaiah allegedly drowned his children by pushing them into an open well in Kalvakurthi of Mahbubnagar district. According to the police, Yadaiah had three children — Parameshwari, 8, Ganesh, 6, and Deepika, 3 — with wife Anjamma.
Three years ago, Anjamma had left him and gone to stay with her mother. A few days ago, Yadaiah asked Anjamma to return home. However, Anjamma refused. Angered by this, Yadaiah pushed the three children into an open well on Thursday, allegedly to “punish” his wife.
Villagers noticed the bodies on Friday morning and alerted Anjamma. She then lodged a police complaint.
Meanwhile, in Kosi mandal, also in Mahbubnagar, a woman along with her three children attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. Their condition is stated to be critical.
The woman, Manjula, was upset as she used to have frequent fights with her husband, Venkataiah. She gave her three children — Anita, Narasimha and Shiva Ram — pesticide-laced milk and then consumed some herself.
