CHILD TRAFFICKING  AND CHILD ABUSE HAS TO COME TO AN END.

Trafficking in children is a global problem affecting large numbers of children. Some estimates have as many as 1.2 million children being trafficked every year. There is a demand for trafficked children as cheap labour or for sexual exploitation. Children and their families are often unaware of the dangers of trafficking, believing that better employment and lives lie in other countries.

Dowry harassment: techie from US held

HYDERABAD: A software engineer from the US, K. Ramakrishna, against whom a dowry harassment case was registered by the Women's Police Station of the Hyderabad Detective Department five months ago, was arrested on Sunday when he came to Delhi on his company work.

The Women's Police Station had already sent notices to all international airports in the country about the case registered against him. Immigration authorities at the Delhi airport detained Ramakrishna when he arrived there and called in the Hyderabad police. He was brought to the city on Monday and remanded in judicial custody.

The accused had married Anupama of Yousufguda in 2006. He took his wife in 2007 to the US but allegedly harassed her for more dowry and sent her back to India.
