3 teachers suspended for sexual harassment in Jammu

Three school teachers have been suspended for allegedly harassing the students sexually in two separate incidents in R.S. Pura tehsil of Jammu district.
A complaint was lodged by the school staff and students of Government Middle School Chakroi in R.S. Pura that two teachers — Jitender Kumar and Satpal Chauhan — were regularly harassing them, Jammu chief education officer (CEO) Natha Ram said on Tuesday.
He along with his team visited the school on Monday and suspended both the teachers. "We have suspended both the teachers and the matter will be brought to the notice of Director School Education and higher authorities. We are considering termination of teachers from the services," Ram said.
In another case, a teacher Kuldeep Raj, who allegedly raped a 13-year-old student of class eight during school time in Government Middle School Kaloyan in R.S. Pura tehsil, has also been suspended from his services, the CEO said.
